Not only famous for its sacred temples, Cua Dat lake, Thuong Xuan district (Thanh Hoa) is also known to many people as a "convergence of water" relic area, with many interesting and peaceful natural landscapes. .
Ignoring the hustle and bustle of the city, we returned to Cua Dat on the first day of winter. From afar, the small stilt houses of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups looming behind the trees appear before their eyes. Besides, the Chu river is still clear and peaceful winding around the village...
We were quickly captivated by the immense green color of the famous Xuan Lien Nature Reserve. This is likened to the Amazon of Vietnam because it is typical for the two ecological regions of the Northwest and North Central with diverse and rich flora and fauna named in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world. This place also has many mountains over 1,000m high such as: Pu Rinh, Pu Gio, Pu Ta Leo... year-round fog covered and cold. All have created a beautiful and quiet painting.
In the midst of the vastness of the mountains and forests, Cua Dat lake appears in the middle of a vast space like the eyes of a young girl in the forest. This "work of the century" was built with the hearts, minds, sweat and tears of many engineers and construction workers on the construction site. They have put all their faith and enthusiasm to create a great project of great value - a sparkling spot on the S-shaped strip of land.
The surface construction makes people who come here for the first time can't help but be surprised and overwhelmed when visiting and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the lake bed. Then enjoy the rustic dishes, rich in cultural identity of the Thai and Muong people such as sardines cooked with fresh bamboo shoots, grilled chicken, sticky rice... with warm and fragrant cups of corn wine. At this point, all space and time seem to stand still, making people forget the noise and bustle outside.
In the vast space of water, Cua Dat lake appears to be so tranquil. As if there is something wild, the feeling is so small of man in front of the vast nature. If you are familiar with the noisy Sam Son sea, or the Ma Giang stream when the flood season comes, you will be surprised by the stillness of this immense lake. Along with that, the quiet, unspoiled scenery of the landscape also brings visitors to emotional reflections! In each of us, many people will wonder: How many mysteries of nature are there that we do not know? How many fascinating destinations like this place that people have not yet discovered?
Dropping the wonder into the immense river of Cua Dat lake bed, visitors continue the journey of discovery in the hope of going to the end. If the original intention of tourists is just to explore the lake bed of irrigation - Cua Dat hydroelectricity, then surely, this trip will bring you more surprises than what was originally intended. Because, when coming to this land, it will be difficult for you to resist the attraction of beautiful caves and waterfalls nearby: Muong cave, Tinh cave, King cave (Van Xuan commune); Trai Gai Waterfall (Xuan Le Commune); Mu waterfall and especially Hon Yen waterfall.

The two temples are located on a high ground at the foot of Roc mountain - the confluence between the Chu and Set rivers. When we visited, it was not the festival season, the temple scene was only quiet and dignified. According to the elderly in the village, in the past, here was just a small temple to worship Cam Ba Thuoc and Ba Chua Thuong Ngan. Later, it was invested by the State and built into a large temple for people to worship. Since ancient times, the temple has been famous for being very sacred, so many people come to pray for good luck and good luck. On weekdays, the temple is very quiet, but on the occasion of the New Year, spring comes, visitors from far away gather here.
For many people, the gods in the temple are guarding the spiritual part of the mountains and forests, protecting health, peace and helping people from bad luck in life.
