What To Expect

1

Day 1: Arrival at Noi Bai Airport – Hanoi City Tour (L)

Early Morning: Driver picks you up at the airport and transfers you to the hotel. After leaving your luggage, begin the Hanoi city tour.

8:00–8:30: Our friendly guide will meet you and start exploring Hanoi.

8:45: Arrive at Tran Quoc Pagoda, located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake.

Tran Quoc Pagoda is the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, built in the 6th century.

9:30: Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. You will have the chance to see Ho Chi Minh’s body, then stroll through the gardens and visit the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. Afterwards, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, considered one of the most unique temples in the world.

Dress code: Proper attire is required when visiting the Mausoleum, pagodas, and temples (shoulders and knees covered).

Closed days: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed every Monday and Friday.

Annual closure: The Mausoleum is closed for at least two months each year (June 15 – August 15) for maintenance, but visitors can still take photos and explore the surrounding area.

11:15: Visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to learn about the culture of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.

Special note: Since the Museum of Ethnology is closed on Mondays, we will visit the Women’s Museum instead.

14:00–14:15: Continue to the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university, built in the 11th century.

15:15: Visit Hoa Lo Prison Museum. Originally used by French colonists in Indochina to detain political prisoners, it was later used by North Vietnam to hold American POWs during the Vietnam War. At that time, American prisoners nicknamed it the “Hanoi Hilton.”
