Visitors making traditional cakes in Hoi An

International visitors cherished unforgettable memories in Hoi An (Quang Nam province), making traditional cakes for those in need.

From the 25th of Lunar December, the courtyard of Boi Com Hoi An restaurant (Dao Duy Tu Street, Hoi An) buzzed with activity as it hosted the wrapping and cooking of banh chung and banh tet (sticky rice cake)

Staff from Boi Com Hoi An restaurant gathered banana leaves to wrap traditional cakes for those in need.

On this occasion, Boi Com Hoi An restaurant prepared around 1,000 banh chung and banh tet to distribute to those in need in Hoi An and nearby areas, spreading love and bringing joy to those facing hardships during the festive season.

The activity quickly captured the attention of visitors passing by Boi Com Hoi An restaurant.

During the Lunar New Year season, international tourists in Hoi An were drawn to this activity and eagerly wanted to participate after learning about its significance.

Some tourists even shared that they would take a few cakes back home as souvenirs from their trip.

Another couple of tourists proudly showed off their “creations”.

Some international tourists stayed up all night to watch the cakes cook.

Around 1,000 banh chung and banh tet were made to be given to people in need in Hoi An and nearby areas through this program.
